MYOB DATA RECOVERY

Zero Alpha is a data recovery company that specializes in retrieving lost or corrupted data from various types of storage media. One of the types of files that Zero Alpha can recover are MYOB files, which are used by the popular accounting software MYOB (Mind Your Own Business).

MYOB files are critical for many businesses, as they contain financial information such as invoices, receipts, payroll data, and other important data. Losing access to these files due to a hard drive failure, software corruption, or other issues can have severe consequences for a business.

Fortunately, Zero Alpha has the expertise and technology to recover lost or damaged MYOB files. Here's how they do it:

  1. Assessment: When you bring your storage media to Zero Alpha, they will perform an assessment to determine the extent of the damage and the likelihood of successful data recovery. They will also provide you with a quote for the recovery service.

  2. Recovery: If you approve the quote, Zero Alpha's technicians will begin the recovery process. They will use specialized tools and techniques to access the data on the damaged media and extract the MYOB files.

  3. Verification: Once the MYOB files have been extracted, Zero Alpha will verify that the files are intact and can be opened using the MYOB software. They will also verify that all the data is present and has not been corrupted.

  4. Delivery: Finally, Zero Alpha will deliver the recovered MYOB files to you in a secure and convenient manner, such as on a new storage device or via secure online transfer.

It's important to note that data recovery is not always successful, and the chances of recovery depend on the extent of the damage and the actions taken after the data loss. That's why it's crucial to stop using the affected storage media as soon as possible and seek professional help.

In addition to MYOB files, Zero Alpha can recover data from a wide range of storage media, including hard drives, solid-state drives, RAID arrays, USB drives, and more. They can also recover data from various operating systems, including Windows, Mac, Linux, and more.

Overall, if you're facing data loss or corruption of MYOB files, Zero Alpha can help. With their expertise and technology, they can recover your valuable financial data and get your business back on track.

I have a client who has backed up her MYOB ata File from her AccountRightPlus AU2016.2.2 and the ZIP file sent to me to review.

I have AccountRight Plus for Windows V 19.12.0.

Now that I have unzipped the Backup file - I can get as far as the login screen, then I get an error message telling me my AccountRight Plus V19.12.0 cannot open the file type .MYOX

Is there any sort of work-around for this, I just need to be able to access the data file and run some reports - no data entry required, or needed. Would hope there's somewhere out there in MYOB land that can provide a solution.

The easiest way to find the location of your company file is to run the Company Data Auditor.

  1. Go to the Accounts command centre and click Company Data Auditor. The Company File Overview window appears, showing you the location of your file and other information:

If you can't access your company file in AccountRight, you can also find its location using windows search.

  1. Simultaneously press the WindowsImage and E keys on your keyboard (the WindowsImage key is between the Ctrl and Alt keys).
  2. In the left panel, click Local Disk (C:).
  3. In the search box (in the top-right corner) type *.myox. The asterisk just tells Windows you're looking for everything that ends in ".myox" (the file extension for AccountRight company files). If your company file ends with ".myo" it's a classic (v19) AccountRight company file and will need to be upgraded.

All AccountRight company files on your Local Disk (C:) drive will be dipslayed. The file location will also be displayed.

Can I create a shortcut to open my company file?

No, you can't create a shortcut to open a company file. This is because a shortcut would be associated with a specific AccountRight version, so each time a new AccountRight version is released the shortcut would need updating.
