ONEDRIVE DATA RECOVERY

OneDrive is the cloud storage service developed by Microsoft that allows you to store all your important files securely in one place and then access them remotely from any location. The service works similarly to a traditional hdd, but it's available through the internet as a cloud service. For instance, because of its cross-device and cross-platform design, you can create a file on one device and pick up where you left off on your laptop, tablet, or phone without having to save a copy on a USB flash drive or email it to yourself. Also, OneDrive makes it easy to share content with other people and collaborate in real-time using the Microsoft 365 integration.

I need to recover deleted files from my OneDrive Folder

Its not uncommon for us to get requests to recover data from a windows OneDrive account. Can Zero Alpha data recovery get files back from deleted or missing OneDrive accounts? Yes we can! Since microsoft released the one drive cloud service we have been recovering files and folders for customers who have accidently deleted or have just plain old gone missing. Documents would have to be the most common type of recovery we perform for One Drive. But it doens't matter what type of data was stored in this location. Zero Alpha data recovery can help get those files back.

This is a general example of the types of files and folder we are use to recovering from a windows 10 one drive location. If many of your OneDrive files were deleted, overwritten, corrupted, or infected by malware, you can restore your entire OneDrive to a previous time. Files Restore helps Microsoft 365 subscribers undo all the actions that occurred on both files and folders within the last 30 days. OneDrive stores deleted files and folders in its Recycle Bin for at least three days and a maximum of 30 days. In most cases, it stores them for 30 days. If your Recycle Bin gets large enough to exceed 10% of your total OneDrive storage, the duration for which they are kept is reduced. If your Recycle Bin does not exceed 10% of your total storage, then all deleted files and folders are kept for 30 days after the date they are removed. If you're signed in with a work or school account (business account), your items are kept for 93 days in OneDrive's Recycle Bin, unless the administrator of your subscription has changed this setting.

Limitations and troubleshooting

  • When version history is turned off, Files Restore can't restore files to a previous version. For information about versioning settings, see Enable and configure versioning for a list or library. Files Restore uses version history and the recycle bin to restore OneDrive, so it's subject to the same restrictions as those features.

  • You can't restore deleted files after they’ve been removed from the site collection recycle bin—either by manual delete or by emptying the recycle bin. A SharePoint site collection administrator may be able to view and restore those deleted items.

  • Albums are not restored.

  • If you upload a file or folder that you deleted, Files Restore will skip the restore operation for that file or folder.

  • If some files or folders cannot be restored, a log file will be generated at the root folder of your OneDrive to capture the errors. The name of the file will begin with "RestoreLog" followed by an ID (for example, RestoreLog-e8b977ee-e059-454d-8117-569b380eed67.log). You can share the log file with our support team to troubleshoot any issues that may occur.
