SYNOLOGY DS223J Data Recovery Caselog

02DEC25: This Synology NAS (network-attached storage drive) stopped working during a lightning storm. Staff tried to get it running again by turning it on and off. They then called their computer support staff, who attempted to initialise the Synology DS223J software. Both drives appeared blank with only 32 LBAs written to them. We were suspicious that a reset mode may have been triggered by either the physical button or the software. We later found out the IT support business had given us the wrong drives. All data was recovered.
