Removing Tech Mode Unlock Patch from Seagate Rosewood Drives with PC-3000

Note : If you did HDD ID edit of the drive, this function may not work. Please rewrite the original ROM from the data base if you have it. It will be the oldest ROM that you saved.

First, start the utility and send the tech unlock handshake to bring the drive ready.

Select Tools > Utility Extensions > Work with Flash ROM image file and read the ROM via ATA.

Press the exclamation mark button to open a drop down, select the "Tech Mode Unlock (patch)" delete option.

Then click the apply button and choose a baud rate for writing back to HDD.

Once the writing is complete, simply power cycle the HDD and find that the patch has been removed.
