WD My Passport Freezing computer when plugged in

20Aug2024: This hard drive will freeze up any computer that its connected to making everything unresponsive. The drive turns out to have a current pending sector error count of 42. We were able to hack the usb pcb to get all files back.

20May2024 - Drive is clicking and spins up and spins down. Suspected hardware error. The drive was clicking and spinning down. MHA SWAP. Detected via usb,SED locked. Could see the file system in the task but drive had bad sectors and it was slow to read the HFS file system. We were able to get all files and folders back considering the difficult problem.
