WD Green WD10EADS-00P8B0 Not Spinning Data Recovery Caselog

24Oct25: This hard drive was first taken to a house in bridgement downs who said it will cost $2100 for data recovery. They did not mention what the problem was though. It was brought to Zero Alpha for data recovery instead. It shows 0amps on 5v and 12v when you turn it on. PCB: 2060-701640-002 Rev A. This pcb is common to have cpu failures mid operation of the drive. This one suffered a head crash as a result. It needed new heads.

WD10EADS-11M2B3 Missing data after a full scan

19Aug26: This 1tb wd green hard drive was mailed in from a computer shop for data recovery because the customer said its missing data. The computer shop did a full scan with data recovery software and could not find any files except for blank western digital factory files and a blank partition. This is most likely because someone has formatted the drive and wiped all the original files and now its a clean blank fresh windows partition table. This is a conventional magnetic hard drive and data has not been formatted and lost to TRIM. What we did find was a hidden bitlocker encryption partition XTS-AES 128 which we had to unlock to recover the customers files.
