Data Recovery Case Log
17June2024: Drive spins up and sounds OK, but has errors in utility initialisation. ACTUATOR_INIT(DISK SERVO ACTUATOR AI FATAL ERROR)
. This error appears to mean that there is an issue with one or more heads. We have SA access, but attempting to access the DA with usual ATA commands results in ABR errors. If we modify our read settings to use the utility and configure decryption (as this drive is SED) then we can access DA with the good heads. Only H3 was bad, so 83% of the data was successfully imaged prior to head swap.
19June2024: After head swap, imaged the rest of the data.
20June2024: Patient has full ID, ACTUATOR_INIT(DISK SERVO ACTUATOR AI FATAL ERROR)
. H4 is bad, other's are OK. Once again will be able to image 83% of data before changing heads.
