WD20EZAZ-00L9GB0 Data Recovery Case Log

19May25: The ROM is corrupt. Wrote donor ROM, uploaded LDR, backed up SA (including WHOLE T2 module). Reconstructed original ROM. Drive goes into reboot loop - powers up and goes from BSY to DRD+DSC+ERR, then back to BSY, etc.. This is because of a damaged T2 translator. Analysis shows 2 metadata versions, the first one is broken. Translation data using second option looks good, with only ~15% zeroed LBAs. PCB 2060-800077-003 REV P1.

Blocked SA access, ran T2 reinit, recreated translator from original module using new (empty) T2 as template, rebooted drive and gained DA access. After building heads map, locked UA writing and repowered drive to prevent further modifications. Imaged all customer data at 70-90MB/s.
